2019 Gift Guides: For Her
Hey, long time no talk, but big fan of gift guide season over here so I decided to write one of my (what I guess is becoming…) biannual blog posts about some of the items I’d love to see under my tree this year. It’s nearly impossible to give thoughtfully without knowing the recipient, but the items I chose this year are high-quality, well made goods that are made to last, as I personally try to move away from fast, high fashion towards, to borrow words from Cuyana, “fewer, better things.”
The Gisele Jumper (or, really anything) by ultimate cool French girl brand, Sézane.
I guess we’re going with a Euro-theme for 2019, because I’ve had my eye on these Slovakian hi-tops for a while now.
I swear just having a pretty journal makes me write more and stay better organized. I bought this Shinola journal in cream with gold monogramming and think it would make the prettiest gift for colleagues or the writer in your life.
Speaking of monogramming, I love these mismatched initial earrings from Brinker & Eliza—another brand I’d buy just about anything from.
I recently got the Cuyana Leather Travel Case Set for my sister as a maid of honor gift, and I’m convinced it’s the perfect gift—a $120 matching Dopp kit set feels too luxurious to purchase for myself, but I’d love to find it under the tree on Christmas morning.
Another great gift for The Traveler—a silk eye mask to keep her wrinkle free and, more importantly, able to sleep in spite of the movie marathon the guy next to you on a redeye wants to have.
One of my favorite books this year, Queenie, is a hilarious, tender, all-too-real look at race, sex, dating, and mental health, and one that I think all of the women in my life will either relate to or appreciate. (And if you want more book ideas, don’t forget to subscribe to my weekly newsletter; it’s full of ‘em!)
This Stutterheim raincoat is so classic I can’t imagine it going out of style, yet it also looks so substantial and chic. Plus, the color is “Potato,” so…
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick is the closest I’ve seen to a universally flattering, every day lipstick.
The coziest blanket for cold winter days.
